- On medium-high to high heat, you can heat a large cast-iron skillet or griddle. Place a tortilla with flour in the middle of the skillet. Flip it and turn the heat down to medium-low when the tortillas begin to puff up or shape air bubbles. To deflate them a little, puncture the air bubbles with a knife tip or the tines of a fork.
